Prudence tearoom

Prudence's Tea Room invites you to visit our gardens and browse the special events we have planned for the year.  Our regular days are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from April to January. We are opened for limited hours during the winter, and have special teas planned just for those days. We welcome private parties for your weddings, birthdays and other events.

Our Teas include soup or salad, depending on the season, finger sandwiches or tarts, scones with clotted cream, dessert and of course a hot, steaming pot of tea. The cost is still $15.00, tax included but not gratuity. Menus are planned according to the fruits and vegetables of the season, and are prepared fresh each day by Prudence. Garnishes of edible flowers and herbs grown on the premises delight the senses, and add to the sense of adventure.

At Prudence's, you'll be eating something different each time you come. The menu changes weekly, and is chef's choice.  No decisions to make, just relax and savor the romantic atmosphere of a time forgotten. Bask in the luxury of crystal chandeliers, antique china and fine linens. Tea is served at 12:00 or 12:30, with only one seating a day.  

Prudence's Tea Room is located on a country road named Turkey Pit just 5 minutes from New Oxford, Pa. the antique capitol of central Pa. Let us help you plan your itinerary when you come for your visit.  Historic Gettysburg, Lancaster county's Amish community, Harrisburg, Baltimore and Washington D.C. are all within 2 hrs. and are in some of the most beautiful parts of the state.  Bed & Breakfasts abound and add to the unique flavor of the area.
